Does Innovative ABA work with adults?
No. Innovative ABA serves children and teens only, and we do not provide ABA therapy for adults. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you wait on a call back. If you are an adult with autism, or you care for one, the last section of this page lists where to start looking for adult services in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
If your child is a teen, we can help. Call (732) 691-1299 and we will talk through your teen's needs and check your insurance benefits for free, or reach us through our contact page. Teens can come to our center on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, and many are served at home, at school or out in the community instead.
What does ABA therapy for teens look like at Innovative ABA?
ABA for a teenager looks different from ABA for a preschooler. The goals shift toward the skills your teen needs for more independence at home, at school and in the community. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) completes an assessment, writes a treatment plan with your teen's input and yours, and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) carries it out, collecting data every session.
Many teens work on friendships and conversation through our Social Skills Development program. Others need support where the skills are actually used, which is where School & Community-Based ABA comes in, with the district's approval. When your teen has an IEP, we can share data with the Child Study Team when you ask us to.
- Independencedaily living skills such as hygiene, simple cooking, managing a schedule and handling money concepts.
- Social skillsstarting and keeping conversations, reading social cues and handling conflict with peers.
- School & transitionorganization, following class routines, self-advocacy and planning for life after high school.
- Coping skillshandling frustration, changes in routine and stressful situations in safer ways.
How are parents involved when a teen is in ABA?
Parents stay part of the team, even as your teen takes on more of their own goals. Through Parent Training & Support, your BCBA shows you how to support new skills at home and how to step back as your teen becomes more independent. If your teen is getting closer to adulthood, it is smart to start planning early for the adult services described below.
Where can adults with autism find ABA therapy?
We cannot recommend specific private providers, but these public resources are good places to start. Ask any provider whether they serve adults before you schedule.

Frequently asked questions
Does Innovative ABA offer ABA therapy for adults?
No. Innovative ABA serves children and teens, not adults. If you are looking for adult ABA, start with the BACB's certificant registry to find a BCBA, your state's developmental disabilities office, such as NJ DDD or Pennsylvania's Office of Developmental Programs, and your health plan's member services line.
Do you provide ABA therapy for teenagers?
Yes. We work with teens at our Cherry Hill center, at home, and at school or in the community when appropriate. Teen goals usually focus on independence, social skills, coping skills and preparing for the transition out of high school. A BCBA designs the plan and reviews data regularly with you and your teen.
What age do you stop serving clients?
We serve children and teens. Because every situation is different, the best way to know whether we are the right fit for your teen is to call (732) 691-1299. We will be honest if another provider would serve your family better, and we can point you toward public resources for adult services.
Is ABA therapy for teens covered by insurance?
Often, yes. New Jersey's autism insurance mandate requires many state-regulated plans to cover medically necessary ABA, and Pennsylvania has its own autism insurance law, Act 62. We accept most major plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Tricare and UnitedHealthcare. Self-funded plans vary, so we verify benefits for free.
How do I check whether an adult ABA provider is qualified?
Look up the provider on the BACB's public certificant registry at bacb.com. It shows whether a person holds an active BCBA or RBT credential. You can also ask who supervises the treatment plan, how often data is reviewed and whether the provider has experience with adults, since adult goals differ from children's.
