Where is the Innovative ABA center in Cherry Hill?

You will find us at 1939 NJ-70 in Cherry Hill, on the stretch of Route 70 at the east end of the township, close to where Cherry Hill meets Marlton in Evesham Township. It is the only physical location we run, and every center-based session we offer happens in this building.

For most families the trip is simple because the center sits on a main road. Route 70 runs straight through Cherry Hill from west to east, I-295 crosses Route 70 on this side of town, and Route 73 meets Route 70 just over the line in Marlton. If you are coming from the west side near Haddonfield or Pennsauken, Route 70 eastbound brings you here; from Voorhees or Marlton you are already close. When you book a first visit, we send the details you need for parking and drop-off so the morning goes smoothly.

Families from every part of Cherry Hill, from the neighborhoods near Route 38 to the ones off Kings Highway and Haddonfield Road, use the center. Because it is local, many parents find that a full day of therapy fits around work and siblings better than a long commute to a larger regional provider would.

What happens at a first visit to the center?

Your first contact is a free phone consultation. We listen to what is going on at home and at school, explain how ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) works, and run a free check of your insurance benefits. If your child already has an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis from a developmental pediatrician or psychologist, we gather that report. If not, we explain how to get an evaluation.

Next comes an assessment led by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). It usually combines a skills assessment, parent interview and direct observation, and when challenging behavior is a concern, a functional behavior assessment to learn why the behavior happens. You are welcome to see the space, meet the clinicians and ask every question on your list.

From that assessment the BCBA writes an individualized treatment plan with measurable goals, which we submit to your insurer for authorization. Once it is approved, your child starts with the same small team they will keep working with. We often have openings and can start quickly, so ask about current availability.

Who attends the Cherry Hill center, and what does a full day look like?

The center serves a wide range of ages and needs. Some children are toddlers who were recently diagnosed and are leaving New Jersey's Early Intervention System, which covers birth to age 3. Others are preschoolers whose families want more hours of teaching than a half-day class provides, or school-age kids who need help with flexibility, safety, self-care or friendships.

What they share is an individualized plan. Two children of the same age might work on completely different goals: one on first words or picture exchange, another on taking turns in conversation or coping when a routine changes. Your BCBA sets those priorities with you and revisits them as skills are mastered.

If your child already has an IEP, we build ABA goals that support what the school is teaching rather than duplicating it. If your child is under 3, ask about our early-stage support program, designed for that window.

Our Full-Day Center-Based ABA program gives your child a structured day built entirely around their treatment plan. Mornings often focus on communication and learning-readiness skills; later blocks practice play, social interaction, self-care and transitions, the same routines a classroom asks for.

Teaching happens in more than one way. Discrete trial training breaks a skill into small, clear steps with immediate reinforcement. Natural environment teaching builds the same skill into play, snack and group time so it carries over to real life. RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians) record data during every session, and the supervising BCBA reviews that data to adjust goals rather than waiting months for a check-in.

Can my child get in-home ABA therapy anywhere in Cherry Hill?

Yes. Our clinicians travel to homes across Cherry Hill for In-Home ABA Therapy, which works well for goals tied to your own routines: bedtime, meals, getting dressed, sibling play or leaving the house without a meltdown. Many Cherry Hill families combine the two, with center days for intensive skill building and home sessions to make those skills stick at home.

Parents are part of the plan either way. Through parent training, your BCBA shows you the strategies the team uses so you can reinforce them between sessions. When school is the priority, our School & Community-Based ABA team can coordinate with Cherry Hill Public Schools staff and your child's Child Study Team around IEP goals.

Why do Cherry Hill families choose a small local provider?

Our approach is "Small by design. Known by name." We keep BCBA caseloads low so your child's supervisor has time to actually watch sessions, coach the RBTs and talk with you. You will not have to re-explain your child to a new therapist every few weeks.

We also serve the towns around us. Families come from Voorhees, Haddonfield, Pennsauken and the rest of Camden County, and from Burlington County towns just across the Evesham line. New Jersey has consistently reported some of the highest autism identification rates in the CDC's monitoring network, and we want a family in Cherry Hill to be able to get quality care without leaving the township. When you are ready, contact us to set up a consultation.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the address of Innovative ABA in Cherry Hill?

Our center is at 1939 NJ-70, Cherry Hill Township, NJ 08003. It sits on Route 70 on the east side of the township, near the Marlton (Evesham) line, with I-295 and Route 73 close by. It is our only physical location, and all center-based ABA happens there. Call (732) 691-1299 and we will share parking and drop-off details.

Is there an ABA center near me in Cherry Hill?

Yes. Innovative ABA's center is inside Cherry Hill on Route 70, so most township families are close to it. Children attend our full-day center-based program there. If coming in daily is not realistic, our BCBAs and RBTs can also provide in-home ABA anywhere in Cherry Hill.

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to start ABA?

Most insurance plans require a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder before they authorize ABA. That diagnosis usually comes from a developmental pediatrician, child psychologist or neurologist. If you are still waiting on an evaluation, call us anyway. We can explain the process and prepare the rest of the intake so you are ready to start.

Does insurance cover ABA therapy in Cherry Hill?

Often, yes. New Jersey's 2009 autism mandate requires many state-regulated health plans to cover medically necessary behavioral treatment such as ABA. Self-funded employer plans follow federal rules instead, so coverage varies. We accept most major plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Tricare and UnitedHealthcare, and we verify your benefits for free.

How many hours a week is full-day center-based ABA?

The number of hours is set by your child's BCBA after assessment and must be approved by your insurer, so it varies from child to child. Full-day programs are typically recommended for children who benefit from intensive, structured teaching. We explain the recommended hours and the reasoning behind them before anything is submitted.

Who supervises my child's therapy?

Every child has a supervising BCBA, and our Clinical Director, Charles Knoppel, BCBA, oversees every treatment plan. Day-to-day sessions are delivered by RBTs who are trained and supervised under standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Because caseloads are small, your BCBA is a familiar, reachable person rather than a name on a report.

Can you work with my child's school in Cherry Hill?

Yes, with your permission. Our team can share progress data, talk with teachers and the Child Study Team, and help align ABA goals with your child's IEP in Cherry Hill Public Schools. School-based support depends on district approval and your insurance, so we review those details with you first.
