How far is Gloucester County from the Cherry Hill center?
Woodbury, the county seat, is about 16 miles from our center at 1939 NJ-70 in Cherry Hill. Gloucester County has two very different halves, and that shapes how we plan care. The northern, more suburban towns, such as Deptford, West Deptford, Woodbury and Washington Township, sit along I-295, Route 42 and Route 55, which connect to I-295 north and Route 70 toward our center.
The southern half, around Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Woolwich, Elk and Franklin Township, is more rural, with farms along Route 45, Route 77 and Route 322. Families there usually find in-home ABA more practical day to day.
Either way, the program your child gets is the same: a BCBA-designed plan, consistent RBTs and hands-on oversight from our Clinical Director, Charles Knoppel, BCBA.
Many families in between, such as those in Glassboro, Monroe Township or Mantua, choose a mix: in-home sessions during the week and center visits when the schedule allows. Your BCBA will help you weigh travel against your child's goals and stamina, since a tired child in a car seat is not ready to learn.
Which ABA programs fit Gloucester County families?
The right mix depends on how far you are from Route 70 and what your child needs most:
Whatever the setting, sessions blend structured teaching, such as discrete trial training, with play-based natural environment teaching. RBTs record data during every session, and your BCBA reviews it often so the plan changes as your child grows. You get progress reports you can share with your pediatrician or school.
- In-Home ABA Therapyfor many Gloucester County families, in-home ABA is the starting point, because skills like dressing, mealtime and following directions are best taught where they happen.
- Full-Day Center-Based ABAfamilies in Deptford, Washington Township and nearby towns can use full-day center-based ABA for a structured day with peers, reached by I-295 or Route 42.
- ABA Therapy for Childrenour ABA therapy for children uses a skills assessment, clear goals and ongoing data collection to show how your child is progressing.
- Early Intervention ABAearly-stage support helps toddlers build communication and play skills, usually at home in Gloucester County, alongside NJ Early Intervention.
- School & Community-Based ABAschool and community ABA can bring an RBT into a classroom or out into the community so skills generalize beyond therapy.
- Parent Training & Supportparent training is especially valuable for families farther from the center, since you practice the strategies every day between sessions.
- Social Skills Developmentsocial skills groups take place at our Cherry Hill center, a good fit once your child is ready for structured peer practice.
How does Early Intervention lead to a Child Study Team in Gloucester County?
New Jersey's Early Intervention System, run by the NJ Department of Health, covers children from birth to age 3. Services often happen at home, which pairs well with in-home ABA. We can coordinate with your EI providers so your toddler's goals support each other.
As your child approaches 3, your school district's Child Study Team evaluates for preschool special education. If your child qualifies, the team writes an IEP. Gloucester County includes many small K-6 and K-8 districts that send older students to regional high schools, so your child may work with more than one district over the years. Keeping good ABA data, including skills assessments and progress notes, makes each of those transitions smoother. With your permission, we share it with the team.
If your child is older and has not been evaluated, you can request a Child Study Team evaluation in writing. A diagnosis for insurance purposes is separate and usually comes from a developmental pediatrician or psychologist.
Will my insurance pay for ABA in Gloucester County?
Many plans will. New Jersey's 2009 autism insurance mandate requires many state-regulated health plans to cover medically necessary behavioral interventions such as ABA. Plans that an employer self-funds follow federal rules, which can differ. We check your benefits for free, explain what your plan needs, and help with authorization.
We accept most major plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Tricare and UnitedHealthcare. Public programs can also cover ABA in general; ask us and we will talk through what applies to your family.
Autism is common. The CDC reports that about 1 in 31 eight-year-olds is identified with autism, and New Jersey has consistently had some of the highest identification rates among its monitoring sites. You are far from alone in looking for help.
Which Gloucester County towns do you serve?
We serve families across the county, including Washington Township and Deptford, plus Woodbury, West Deptford, Glassboro, Monroe Township, Mantua, Pitman, Harrison Township, Swedesboro, Woolwich, Logan, Paulsboro, Clayton and Franklin Township.
If you live in nearby Camden County towns, our Camden County page covers the center-based options closer to home. Otherwise, contact us and we will match a schedule to your town.
Not sure which program to start with? That is normal. During the free consultation we ask about your child's strengths, the challenges you see at home and school, and your weekly routine, then suggest a starting mix of in-home, center and parent training. Nothing is locked in; plans change as your child does.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have a center in Gloucester County?
No. Our only center is at 1939 NJ-70 in Cherry Hill. Gloucester County families use it for full-day center-based ABA and social skills groups, while in-home, school and community ABA travel to you. Many families in the southern part of the county start with in-home care.
What roads do Gloucester County families use to reach the center?
Most families take I-295 north or Route 42 and Route 55 toward I-295, then head east on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. Woodbury, the county seat, is about 16 miles from our center. We do not promise drive times, since traffic on these roads varies.
Can in-home ABA work as well as center-based ABA?
It can, depending on your child's goals. In-home ABA is strong for daily routines, communication with family and behavior that shows up at home. Center-based ABA adds peers and a structured learning day. Your BCBA will recommend a setting based on your child's assessment.
We live in a rural part of the county. Is in-home ABA available?
We serve the whole county, including farm towns along Route 45 and Route 77. Availability depends on therapist schedules in your area, so ask about current openings. We often have openings and can start quickly, and parent training helps keep progress going between visits.
What happens when my child turns 3?
NJ Early Intervention ends at 3, and your school district's Child Study Team evaluates for preschool services and, if eligible, an IEP. ABA through insurance can continue during and after that change. With your permission, our BCBA can share data with the team.
How do I start ABA from Gloucester County?
Call (732) 691-1299 or use our contact page. We start with a free consultation and a free insurance benefits check, then help with authorization and schedule a skills assessment with your BCBA, either at home or at our Cherry Hill center.
Can ABA help my child get ready for kindergarten?
Yes. Many families use ABA in the year before kindergarten to build skills like sitting for group activities, following routines, asking for help, using the bathroom and playing with peers. Your BCBA can target those skills at home and, where practical, at the center or in a preschool setting.
